District Governor

District Governor Doug was elected to
serve the position at the Annual District N-1 Convention in Saint John, April 19th,
2014.
Lion Doug retired from BellAliant in
2000 after 30 years of service. He currently provides contract engineering and
IT services to national telecommunications companies.
Lion Doug joined the Orleans Lions Club,
near Ottawa, in 1987 and has over 28 years of perfect attendance. Besides the
Orleans Club, he has been an active member of the Hampton and Moncton Lions
Clubs and a Charter Member of the Pickwauket Lions Club.
Lion Doug has held all Club leadership
roles and has been a member of the Board of Directors for all but one of his
years in Lions.
Since arriving back in New Brunswick in
1990, Lion Doug has held various positions at the District and Multiple District
levels including Cabinet Secretary Treasurer, Zone Chairman as well as
Elections, Long Range Planning, Membership, Auditor, IT, and LFC Chair or
Co-Chair. Most of you will know him from his 9 years in the District Leadership
(Training) role.

Along the way, he has been the recipient
of a number of awards for his work in Lionism including a Melvin Jones Fellow
and a Judge Brian Stevenson Fellow along with three International President’s
Appreciation Certificates and an International President’s Leadership Medal. His
work has also been recognized with “Best District” awards for District Chair,
Zone Chair, Secretary and Treasurer.
Lion Doug resides in Hampton with his wife Lion Mary and they have two sons
